It is with deep sorrow we announce the sudden promotion to glory of Doctor Sarah Munjiru Thuo who died peacefully at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston,Massachusetts on Monday July 20 th ,2009.
She leaves behind a husband Patrick Karongo and a 3 ½ year old son Jonathan Wangunyu Karongo.She was daughter to the late Captain Gadson M.Thuo and Mrs. Margaret Wairimu Thuo and daugher-in-law to the late Mr. Johnson Wangunyu Karongo and Mrs. Karen W. Karongo of Kiambu. She was a sister to Dr. Njeri White of Rhode Island, Eve Thuo of North Carolina and Jullie Thuo of New Jersey. She was granddaughter to the late Mr. Livingstone Kiarie Muikia and Mrs.Miriam Njeri Kiarie of Lower Kabete and Mr. Gilbert Thuo and Mrs. Sarah Munjiru Thuo of Nakuru.She was niece to Mrs. Priscilla Karanja, Mrs. Rahab Kamau and Ms. Betty Thuo .She leaves behind three sisters ,a niece ,two nephews and many cousins.
Sarah was born in Nakuru,Kenya.She attended primary school at Loreto Convent Msongari and High School at Limuru Girls’ High.
Upon coming to the United States she completed her undergraduate studies at University of Massachusetts,Amherst with a Bachelors degree in Biology and went on to receive a Doctorate degree in Pharmacy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy ,Wo rcester in 2004.
Sarah was a loving wife,wonderful mother,supportive and loving sister and a daughter any mother would wish for.She is loved and will be loved forever.

Amen A wake has been planned to take place on Monday, July 27 at 4- 8 pm at the Mercadante Funeral Home on 370 Plantation Street in Worcester. Get directions A final memorial service will take place at the First Assembly of God Church located off Lincoln Street on Tuesday, July 28 at 10am, also in Worcester.Get directions This will be to be followed by a burial ceremony at the Notre Dame cemetery a few miled away from the First Assembly Church.
